CLD Horse Nomination

This page offers all one needs to know about nominating a horse for year end CLD awards.

Steps for nominating your horse:

Step 1

Become a member of CLD. (Make sure your horse's owner is a member as well.)

Step 2

Using the charts to the right, decide what category (or categories) and division you wish to show.

Step 3

Nominate your horse using the online fillable form, or, if you prefer, download and print this form to mail to the awards chairman.

Step 4

Check back here to confirm your nomination.

Step 5

Show your horse, accumulate scores.

Step 6

Submit your top two scores, from two different judges & shows to the awards chairman before October 15. Or mail scores to the address listed for the Awards Chairman here.

Step 7

Check back here to confirm your results were submitted.

Junior/Young Rider



Individual who is under 21 on January 1 of the competition year.


Unrecognized Show Division


Adult Amateur


Scores gained at shows approved and/or not approved by USEF and USDF are accepted in this division. No breed shows.

Individual over 21 on January 1 of the competition year who is not a professional horseman.







Novice



A horse and rider pair may compete as a novice for two years in a particular level before moving to Adult Am, JR/YR or Open.


Recognized Show Division

Open


Only scores gained at shows approved by USEF and USDF are accepted in this division. No breed shows.

No restriction as to age or professional status.
