Phase 1
Pilates Ground Work (Saturday and Sunday)
At The Pilates Studio of Springfield, 1305 W. Wabash (near MacArthur). Phone 217-793-0700.
Open to all. Introduces the core and wrap of the Pilates method which will directly relate to posture and position/seat on the horse.
Phase 1a
Pilates in the Saddle (Saturday and Sunday)
At StarWest, 1736 S. Farmingdale Rd, New Berlin.
Phone 217-546-9400.
Explores using the musculature of Pilates to correct posture and position/seat while mounted. Work will be done mostly at the walk, learning how to use the core for starting, stopping and half halts.
Must complete Phase 1 before attending.
Phase 2
Pilates Ground Work 2 (Sunday only)
Introduces more Pilates exercises including bending and twisting and begins the concept of stabilizing the core for use of the upper body. The exercises will relate directly to all circling work on the horse.
Must complete Phase 1 before attending.
Phase 2a
Pilates in the Saddle (Sunday only)
Continues Phase 1a exploration at the walk and at the trot. Begins to explore using the musculature learned in Pilates Ground Work 2 for circling.
