Nearly 15 members of CenterLine Dressage enjoyed a potluck in Chrissie Moran's newly remodeled kitchen on October 29. After dinner the group moved to the living room for a short presentation from Janice Dulak about her new book, Pilates for the the Dressage Rider. The CLD member from Champaign wrote the book because she thought Pilates should be more correctly represented than it is depicted in some recent publications on the subject in the dressage press. She felt it was important to continue the original teachings of Joseph H. Pilates. Janice and all instructors at her studio are certified by Romana Kryzanowska, heir to the teachings of Joseph H. Pilates.
The process to incorporate the teachings of Pilates into riding helped Janice to improve her own seat in her journey to become a dressage rider.
